Abstract: The report is prepared for the Improved Delivery of Legal Aid for the Poor and Vulnerable Project implemented by the Ministry of Justice. It will first introduce framework documents on legal aid as well as the global situation on legal aid provision. Examining guiding criteria for legal aid quality assessment, the report will then focus on two types of international guideline: one on criteria and indicators for legal aid quality assessment, and another on the development of quality criteria and indicators in the context of specific quality objectives. The report will also highlight select national-level examples applicable to the Vietnam context.
